Privacy Policy
Plain-language version: we cannot see your files, because there is nowhere for them to arrive. This policy explains exactly what does and does not leave your browser.
1. Your documents
Every tool on ScanMaster processes files inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Selecting a file reads it into your device's memory; the output is written back to your device by a normal browser download. No document, image, filename or file content is transmitted to us or to any third party. There is no upload endpoint, no storage bucket and therefore no deletion-retention policy to negotiate — the copy disappears when you close the tab.
2. Account and identity
We do not offer an account system. No email address, name, avatar or profile is collected or stored, and no login means no credential database that could be breached.
3. Cookies and tracking
ScanMaster sets no HTTP cookies and loads no advertising or social-media pixels. There is no third-party analytics script on this site. See the cookie policy for the one local storage mechanism we do use.
4. What your browser does store
theme— your light/dark/system choice, written by the theme toggle so pages open in the right colours.scanmaster.recent-tools— the last 12 tool slugs you opened, used to show your own shortcuts.scanmaster.favorite-tools— up to 24 tool slugs you starred in My Space.
All three live in your browser's localStorage on your machine, are never sent anywhere, and can be wiped at any time from My Space or by clearing site data in your browser settings.
5. Server logs
Static file requests are handled by our hosting provider (Vercel), which may record standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent and requested path in accordance with its own infrastructure policy. That metadata tells us nothing about the contents of any document — document bytes are never part of a request.
6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, so there is nothing to age-gate beyond common sense.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, this page changes with it — the footer link always points at the current text. Questions: support@scanmaster.site. Related reading: Terms of Service and Security.
