About DOC to PDF

DOC to PDF is on the roadmap and not working yet, and this page says so instead of leaving you with a dead button. Why it is not live yet: requires server-side LibreOffice engine. Everything else on this site runs in your browser today; the parts marked coming soon need capability a browser tab does not have.

The slow route to building a PDF out of something that is not a PDF is installing something, making an account and uploading the file; this is the fast route.

How to use DOC to PDF in 3 steps

  1. This tool is marked coming soon, so nothing here will convert or process a file — read the reason stated above before you spend time on it.
  2. Use the closest tool that does work today: it takes DOC, so look for a live tool in Create & Convert to PDF.
  3. Bring the result back here for the rest of the job — merging, compressing, protecting or signing a finished file all work today.

What you get with DOC to PDF

  • One job, done in the browser: legacy binary Word .doc files converted to PDF.
  • Free to use, with no signup and no account
  • No watermark or logo added to your output
  • Works on desktop and mobile, no install

DOC to PDF: questions

Will it work on a phone?
Yes. The layout adapts to a small screen and the processing runs in the mobile browser, so a photo or a downloaded document can be handled on the device it arrived on.
Why is it free?
Because the expensive part — the server farm — does not exist. Processing runs on your device, so the site can stay free without a signup wall in front of it or an upsell in the middle of a job.
Which file types does DOC to PDF accept?
The drop area takes DOC. Files are read from your device in the browser, so the format has to be one a browser can decode — that is why the accepted list on this page is finite and honest rather than "everything".
What do I get back from DOC to PDF?
The result is PDF, offered as a download the moment the work finishes. Multiple results come back together rather than as fifty separate save dialogs.
