About N-up PDF

Put multiple PDF pages on one sheet — 2, 4, 6 or 9 per page — and hand out a 40-page deck as nine sheets instead of forty. Page content is scaled down and re-laid out; the text stays selectable, so the handout is still searchable on a tablet.

Printing slides or sheet music two or four to a page to save paper.

How to use N-up PDF in 3 steps

  1. Drop the PDF you want to impose.
  2. Choose how many pages go on each sheet and whether the order runs across or down.
  3. Create the N-up PDF and download it, ready to print.

N-up PDF: questions

Will the text be too small to read at 6-up?
At A4 with six pages, body text is roughly a third of the original height, which is fine for slides and poor for dense contracts. Four-up is the sweet spot for most documents.
Does N-up change the paper size of the document?
Yes — the output sheets are the page size you choose, with the source pages scaled to fit inside them.
How big a file can I use?
Up to 100 MB per file and 50 files per batch. There is no server queue behind that limit; the practical ceiling is your browser's memory, so split unusually large documents into two runs.
Where does the processing actually happen?
In this tab. The file is read locally, converted or edited locally, and handed back as a download — no copy is sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to breach or keep.
Will it work on a phone?
Yes. The layout adapts to a small screen and the processing runs in the mobile browser, so a photo or a downloaded document can be handled on the device it arrived on.
