About PDF to PNG

Convert a PDF to PNG for lossless page images with clean edges. It is the right choice when the page contains text, line art, a logo or a screenshot, where JPG's compression would leave visible ringing around the shapes.

Page images for a wiki, a design mockup or an editor where JPG artefacts would show.

How to use PDF to PNG in 3 steps

  1. Drop the PDF you want as PNG pages.
  2. Start the conversion; each page is rendered as its own image.
  3. Download the PNG files, or the ZIP if the document has several pages.

What you get with PDF to PNG

  • Lossless output: crisp edges around text and vector shapes
  • PNG is accepted by editors, wikis and design tools that reject PDFs
  • Same page-per-file behaviour as PDF to JPG, at a larger file size
  • Runs in your browser — the file is never uploaded
  • Free to use, with no signup and no account
  • No watermark or logo added to your output
  • Works on desktop and mobile, no install

PDF to PNG: questions

Why are my PNGs so much bigger than JPGs?
PNG stores every pixel exactly. That is what keeps text edges clean, and it is why photos come out better as JPG. Use Compress Image if the size matters.
Does PNG keep transparency from the PDF?
PDF pages are opaque by default, so the output has a solid background. If you need a cut-out logo from a PDF, extract the image with Extract Images instead.
Can I process several files at once?
Yes, up to 50 files in a batch, each no larger than 100 MB. Results come back together instead of one save dialog per file.
Is it safe to use for a document with personal details in it?
That is the design goal: the document stays on your device, so a statement, a contract or an ID photo is never transmitted for processing. Nothing here needs an internet connection once the page has loaded, apart from engines that fetch their own model data.
Will it work on a phone?
Yes. The layout adapts to a small screen and the processing runs in the mobile browser, so a photo or a downloaded document can be handled on the device it arrived on.
