PNG to JPG
Convert PNG to a smaller JPG on a white background.
About PNG to JPG
Convert PNG to JPG and take most of the file size out of an image that has no transparency to protect — screenshots, exported charts, photos that arrived as PNG. Transparent areas are flattened onto white, which is what you want on a light page and the reason to check first if your background is dark.
Shrinking a heavy PNG export before it goes into a page or an email.
How to use PNG to JPG in 3 steps
- Drop the PNG files onto the drop area.
- Set Quality for the JPG — 85-92 is usually invisible against the original.

PNG to JPG: questions
- What happens to my transparent background?
- JPG has no transparency, so the alpha is flattened onto white. If you need the cut-out to stay, keep PNG and compress it instead.
- Is text still readable after conversion?
- Small text and hard edges are where JPG shows its limits first. Preview at 100%; if the letters get fuzzy, raise the quality or use PNG.
- How much smaller will it be?
- For a screenshot or a photo, commonly 60-90% smaller. For an image of flat colour, sometimes barely anything — PNG already stores that efficiently.
