WEBP to JPG: questions
- Why would I undo a WEBP?
- Because WEBP is smaller but less universally accepted. If the receiving system cannot read it, size is irrelevant — convert to JPG and let it in.
- Does the conversion lose quality?
- WEBP is already a lossy approximation. Re-encoding to JPG loses a little more, so keep the original file and work at 90% quality unless size forces you lower.
- Can I keep transparency?
- Not in JPG. Convert WEBP to PNG instead if the alpha channel matters.
