About PDF to Text
Convert a PDF to text and get a clean .txt with the reading order preserved. It is the fastest way to make a document searchable, pasteable or countable — pull the words out of a report, then diff it, index it or run a word count on it.

PDF to Text: questions
- Why is the text file empty?
- The PDF has no text layer — it is a scan of pages. Run OCR PDF to create one, then extract.
- Are tables preserved?
- As lines of text, not as a grid. If the table matters, use PDF to Excel, which is built to split columns.
- Does formatting survive?
- No — .txt has no formatting by design. Use PDF to HTML if you want headings and paragraphs kept as structure.
